Raw foods are extremely rich in antioxidants. enzymes, and phytonutrients. Antioxidants build your immune system and remove free radicals from the body. Free radicals are extremely damaging to the body. Enzymes help create an alkaline body rather than an acidic one. The more alkaline the body is the healthier you will be. All cooked food turns acidic. Processed foods are the most acidic. Phytonutrients are the chemical found in plants that help defend against environmental damage such as ultraviolet light, and all forms of pests and bacteria. This chemical transfers from the plants into the human body to do the same thing. It also can assist in slowing down the aging process and help brain function.
